So I’m on here at lefties pizza with the owner, Estella. Estella, can you tell us a little bit about the story of lefties pizza and how you guys got started? Yes. So our business partner and friend, John McNeil, started Lefties in Chicago. He has two locations on the north shore of Chicago.
After my husband and I moved here over a year ago, we decided that this is a great opportunity to have a Lefties. There is nothing similar or close to it. And this is really our favorite pizza back home is just special to us.
Awesome. So you did not actually own lefties pizza. You loved it, and it was so good that you decided to just move it with you when he came to Austin. Yes, well, we’re very grateful out the whole country that you brought it here. What would you say makes your pizza more special than other pizzerias are fresh ingredients. Most of our needs produce everything comes from the Chicago area. You can taste the difference. On top of that are fresh dough. We make it every morning. And what’s special about the pan is caramelized crust.
Well, I can’t wait to dive into some. What would you say are your two big menu items that everyone loves?
Most popular would be the Chicago combo, which includes sausage, bell pepper, onion, and pepperoni pizza.
Oh, my goodness. Check this out. This crust is so good. It’s one of my favorites in the area. I’m probably going to need a to-go box for all this by myself, but I’m going to dive in and enjoy this!
