Throughout the year, Austin’s real estate market exhibited familiar patterns, with prices rising in the spring and peaking in the summer before tapering off towards the year-end. Historically, annual home value appreciation in Austin ranges between 3% to 5%, aligning closely with the observed trends of 2023.

Factors Driving Market Activity: The resurgence in market activity towards the end of 2023 can be attributed to a significant drop in interest rates. Starting the year at an all-time high of 8%, interest rates gradually decreased into the sixes, stimulating renewed buyer interest and prompting a flurry of transactions.
